This page is designed to be an online collection of my work, primarily geared towards prospective clients, as well as serving as an archive of past materials. Certain sub-sections of the portfolio chronicle ongoing or completed projects, and carry a limited "how to" - while others are merely portfolio samples.
If you have any questions on specific projects, please contact me about them. Most of these projects progress primarily through the help and knowledge of others, which I am only happy to pass along.
On a professional level, I live in Santa Barbara, California. I've lived here for almost six years, and intend to stay at least five more. I graduated the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, a Minor in Professional Writing, and a Technology Entrepreneur's Certificate in June of 2006. I currently work for Occam Networks as a Product Line Manager. I am responsible for intenral communications tools, which includes the comapny-wide "dashboard" application I wrote, as well as our optoelectronics business and beta programs. I consult for a wide variety of projects, but these days my time and interest fall heavily in Ruby on Rails development.
In my personal time, I split my energies between hardware and software. On the software side, I've authored Facebook applications, a Rails-implementation of the X10 protocol, a Rails-based online media management system (ROME), and an assortment of private sites focusing on business logic, information sharing, process management. When I'm not working on software, I'm spending my time working on specialty lighting. I've always liked the way that light can change a space, and so I've worked extensively with event creation groups on lighting projects in spaces as small as a photo booth and as large as a 5-story warehouse.
